What are Marbles Gladstone Knives?

Marble’s Ideal Hunting Knife initially became available and manufactured in Gladstone, Michigan in 1899. It was one of the earliest knives that were developed to be used specifically by American hunters, and it has been used by a multitude of people throughout the years. There have been whispers that Teddy Roosevelt had an admiration for Marble’s knives.

The blade is made of high-quality carbon steel and has a full tang for added durability. You’ll get what you see in the photos.
Early Ideal knife (left facing serif on the A). Everything is tight and and solid, there’s no wiggle or looseness. Stag handle with four pins. Lots of black and red spacers. Aluminum pommel and half hilt (guard). The blade measures about 5 1/2 inches long and is worn from use. It has discoloring, scratches, blemishes, dings, corrosion, old grind marks, wear, etc consistent with a vintage knife. The sheath is not the original but they fit together well.You must be over 18 years old to purchase.
Based on the mark, I believe it dates to around 1930. Brass half guard. Red, black and brass spacers. All tight and solid. Not a commonly found Marbles, especially in this condition.
IDEAL hunting knife is a unique addition to any collection. The blade is made of carbon steel with a clip point blade type and a plain edge. EARLY Left Facing Serif. (Left facing serif on letter A denotes. ).
This is a very nice and original Marbles IDEAL hunting knife with the rare 8" blade. Blade shows little use and has only been lightly honed on the edge. No pitting or scars and has the original factory finish.
