Burchtree Bladeworks is a custom knife making business owned and operated by Michael Burch. Michael Burch is a renowned custom knifemaker known for his high-quality, functional, and aesthetically pleasing knives. His journey into knifemaking began early in life, starting with a passion for collecting knives and experimenting with building blades in his father’s workshop.

After high school, Michael Burch joined the United States Marine Corps as a reservist and later worked as an editor and writer for the internet department of a large outdoor retail company. Around 2002, he seriously pursued knife making, learning through extensive research, discussions with other knifemakers, and hands-on practice.

Burch became a full-time knifemaker in 2007, focusing on building knives out of materials like 1095, W-2, CPM-154 stainless steel, and stainless damascus, including his own damascus made in collaboration with Jody Muller. His main focus is on creating high-quality folding knives, such as linerlocks, framelocks, and flippers.
